Frequently Asked Questions
How do you calculate point values?
We use our monthly point valuations based on real redemption data across travel portals, transfer partners, and statement credits. Each loyalty program has a baseline cents-per-point (CPP) value that represents a good redemption.
When should I use points instead of cash?
Use points when your effective redemption rate exceeds the baseline valuation by 10% or more. This means you're getting above-average value from your points — for example, getting 2.0¢ per Chase point when the baseline is 1.5¢.
What is a breakeven point?
The breakeven is the number of points you'd need to spend to match the cash price at the program's baseline valuation. If a redemption costs fewer points than the breakeven, you're getting great value.
