In-Depth Review

Who Is the SavorOne Best For?

The Capital One SavorOne is the best no-annual-fee dining and entertainment card. It earns 3% on dining, entertainment, grocery stores, and popular streaming services — an unusually broad set of bonus categories for a free card. If you eat out, go to concerts, subscribe to Netflix, and buy groceries (so... everyone), the SavorOne quietly earns more than most cards costing $95+/year.

Rewards Across Lifestyle Categories

The 3% dining rate matches or beats many premium cards (Chase Sapphire Preferred earns 3x dining but charges $95/year). Adding 3% at grocery stores makes the SavorOne competitive with cards like the Amex Blue Cash Everyday (3% groceries) while also covering dining and entertainment. The entertainment category includes movies, concerts, sporting events, theme parks, and more.

On $800/month in combined dining, groceries, and entertainment spending, you earn $288/year in bonus rewards — pure profit since there's no annual fee. Add a few streaming subscriptions at 3%, and you're pushing $300+/year.

How It Compares

vs. Chase Freedom Unlimited: The CFU earns 3% on dining but only 1.5% on everything else (no grocery or entertainment bonus). The SavorOne's broader 3% coverage makes it the better standalone card. The CFU wins if you're in the Chase ecosystem and want transferable UR points.

The Bottom Line

The SavorOne is a sleeper hit — 3% on dining, groceries, entertainment, and streaming with no annual fee is hard to beat. It may lack the prestige of premium cards, but it quietly outearns many of them on everyday spending.

Great for everyday spending

Replaced my old rewards card with this. The 3% categories cover most of my spending. Only wish the base rate was higher.
