About this Scholarship

We launched this scholarship to encourage clearer thinking and writing about consumer credit. Most personal finance content for college students is generic advice repeated across thousands of sites. We're looking for fresh perspectives from the generation actually entering the credit system.

Recipients keep full ownership of their work. Only the winning essay is published on CardCompare, with the author's name, school, and class year. Funds are sent directly to the recipient's financial aid office for application toward tuition or qualified educational expenses.
